Picked in the Okanagan
We load up at orchards around the valley, including Davison Orchards in Vernon, close to home.
Checking today's stop…
From Okanagan orchards to Alberta towns
Every week of the season our family trucks tree-ripened BC fruit over the Rockies and sets up the yellow tents in eight southern Alberta towns.
The weekly route
Same towns, same spots, every week of the season. Pick a day to see where we'll be.
More stops coming. We're looking at adding towns. If you'd like the truck in your town, send us a message and tell us where.
How it gets to you
We don't buy from a warehouse. Our family drives to the Okanagan, loads the trailer, and brings it to you ourselves.

We load up at orchards around the valley, including Davison Orchards in Vernon, close to home.

About 600 km of mountain highway, with the trailer full of cherries, peaches and everything else that's ripe that week.

We set up beside the trailer in your town, weigh it out, and you take it home the same day.
What's on the truck
What's on the truck changes week to week with the harvest. We post photos of each week's load on Facebook.
Also on the truck: Taber corn, carrots, beans, cucumbers, peppers, melons, squash and pumpkins, plus jams, chutney, syrup and juice from Okanagan producers.
Typical timing. The weather moves it a week or two either way.

Our story
Deacon's Farm Market is a family business from Vernon, in BC's Okanagan Valley. Our first stop was Three Hills, Alberta. We've been making the run every summer for more than 30 years.
Dan drives the semi and the whole family works the tents. These days two trucks run the route, so we can be in more towns each week.
We stick with BC fruit whenever the crop allows. In a hard year, like the winter cold snap that killed most Okanagan peach buds in 2024, we bring in peaches from Washington and Georgia so you're not left without. We'll always tell you where it's from.
For many, many years I have gotten my fresh fruit at Deacon's in Strathmore. Never have I found anywhere else close to the quality.Dot M., Facebook review

Yes, at every stop. Cash works too.
We start in late June, once the first BC cherries are ready, and finish on Thanksgiving weekend in October. We announce the first day on Facebook a few days before.
We post photos of each week's load on our Facebook page, usually early in the week. The chart on this page shows roughly when each fruit comes in.
Yes. Canning peaches, apricots, pears and apples are sold by the case, and berries by the flat. For larger amounts, send a bulk order request so we bring enough for you.
Each stop on the route list has the spot and a directions link. In High River we're downtown on the old railway line, and also at the High River Farmers' Market.
We're planning to add stops. Send us a message with your town and we'll keep it in mind.
Not right now. Follow us on Facebook for weekly updates and the season start date.
If the mountain passes are dangerous, like early snow in the Rogers Pass, we may cancel a stop. We always post changes on Facebook first.
